Terminal 5 is a large terminal at London Heathrow Airport which has a capacity to handle up to 35 million passengers annually. It was opened in 2008 and is currently the main terminal for British Airways, although other airlines also use it. The terminal has 60 aircraft stands and is spread across five floors with a total floor space of 353,020 square meters. To handle the vast number of passengers, it features 96 check-in desks, 60 self-service kiosks, and 29 security lanes. Additionally, it has 28 departure gates, 38 retail outlets, 17 restaurants and bars, and numerous lounges for business and first-class passengers. Terminal 5 is one of the largest terminals in Europe and can accommodate up to 12,000 passengers at any given time.
